Originally a US trademark registered December 22, 1998 by Cherry Lake Tree Farm, Inc., Florida, USA for the progeny of a Q. virginiana tree found on the west shore of Lake David, Groveland, Florida. Trademark cancelled September 24, 2005. Now treated by Cherry Lake Tree Farm as a cultivar. Not distinct, so here treated as a synomym of Q. virginiana.
